Markus Struppler, Head of Finance and Operations

Markus joined BayTech Venture Capital in 2009 as Head of Finance and Operations. Major part of his responsibility is investor relations, finance and reporting as well as portfolio controlling and due diligence audits of new and current investments. He has got a broad experience in both restructuring companies and corporate finance methods and also managing growth.

Before Markus joined the team of BayTech Venture Capital, he worked as CFO for SolarTec AG, a company focussing on the construction of several PV power plants within Europe and the development of the PV concentrator technology. His activities were investor relations, corporate finance and restructuring of the company. As member of the supervisory board he supported the sale of the business to an international investor.

Previously, he spent eleven years with ATOSS Software AG, a publicly listed software company. As project manager for the listing, he had relevant impact on the IPO of ATOSS in 2000. As CFO and general manager of subsidiaries, he focused on investor relations and internal and external reporting. He was responsible for portfolio controlling and advised the group in financial matters. He integrated acquired companies into the organisation structure of the group and took responsibility of the back office sales. Markus was member of the pilot group for XBRL reporting of the German Stock Exchange.

He started his professional career at Bain & Company and later joined a Munich-based media group as controller.

He holds a degree in economics from Ludwigs-Maximilians-University of Munich after studying at the University of Konstanz, the London School of Economics and the Munich University. Markus is fluent in German and English.
